Mr. FillingerI earned my Bachelor’s Degree in History from the College of Wooster in 2003. While there I completed a capstone thesis program on the role of the U.S. Air Force in the opening months of the Korean War. I later went on to earn my Master’s Degree in Education from Wright State University in 2006. My first teaching position was in Yukon, Oklahoma, where I taught World History and A.P. World History for six years. While there I helped found that schools RC flying club. I joined West Michigan Aviation Academy during the 2017-2018 school year.
As part of the Aviation Department, I have worked with all grade levels to broaden student’s understanding of the world of aviation. I also play a large role in WMAA’s remote control flight community as the instructor for Introduction to RC Aviation, Unmanned Aerial Systems, and advisor to the school’s RC club. I am certified by the FAA as a Commercial Unmanned Pilot. I enjoy sharing my life long passion for aviation with my students! |
